Yap High Is the most diverse school in Yap. Students descend from every educational zone from Satawal, Woleia, Ifilik, Ulithi to Waab as well as some from the other FSM states, Paulau and other Pacific Islands. The students are multilingual. They have developed literacy in  Satawalese, Ulithi or Woleia and Yapese before entering ninth grade. YHS is their first experience where English is the medium of instruction in all classes. It as the vision of Yap High to enhance its instructional program to ensure that all students graduate and are on a path towards higher education at the university or community college level and/or equipped with the skills to seek employment in the many areas they are trained in while at YHS.
